Under the brand name HobioFanai (which translates to “hobby fans” in English), the company has been a distributor of SAFE products in Lithuania since 2018. What is this all about, and why did HobioFanai choose SAFE as its primary brand to represent? Donatas, the creator of HobioFanai, explains:
“The idea of HobioFanai has been around for a long time. At that time, there wasn’t a single company in Lithuania selling collecting accessories. As time passed, the demand for such products grew, and several companies began offering them. Initially, various German manufacturers’ products for numismatists were introduced to the market, along with other popular collecting solutions. However, this wasn’t enough for everyone—we wanted to offer something unique from our side.
Having been interested in and collecting stamps for many years, I knew that my colleague at the time was also involved in it. I suggested the idea of HobioFanai.lt as a philately online store, and our thoughts aligned. We started on August 22, 2017—soon we’ll be celebrating our 7th anniversary. Back then, we had about 1,000 stamps in the store and a few used collecting solutions, which in hindsight seems laughably small. Now, we are probably the largest philately online store in Lithuania.
HobioFanai.lt has continuously grown and expanded. There arose a need to offer collectors new and high-quality collecting solutions. We contacted all the major German manufacturers regarding the quality, price, and more convenient delivery options for their products. We received offers from most of them that were acceptable to us. We have always sought exclusivity and quality, which is why we have remained loyal to some of the more renowned German companies. In December 2018, at the international coin exhibition in Vilnius, we met with SAFE’s representative, Marko from Estonia. This marked the beginning of our collaboration with SAFE.“
